 Cafa Consultants LLC is currently conducting searches for the following:

Director Compliance OTC Derivatives: At least 5 years' experience in an audit, regulatory, or compliance function, particularly involving OTC derivatives. Risk management and other experience in OTC derivatives a plus. Familiarity with the OTC derivatives market, in several of the following areas: 

  • Basic Products (IRS, CDS, Equity, Commodity and Energy, etc)
  • Structured products
  • Standard agreements
  • Market dynamics
  • Trading mechanisms and practices
  • Transaction processing
  • Reporting requirements
  • Pricing and valuation methods
  • Collateral and capital requirements

An understanding of complex and sophisticated market issues. Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or related field. Advanced degree preferable in accounting, finance or related field. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strategic, innovative and creative thinking. Ability to apply a common sense approach in a rule driven environment. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong networking and relationship building skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. A high level of initiative. Experience in managing others and workflow.. Location: New York Strongly Preferred. Salary commensurate with experience

Senior Capital Advisor, OTC Derivatives The Senior Capital Advisor will assist the Vice President, OTC Derivatives, in building a structure to enable regulatory agency to carry out its regulatory programs applicable to OTC derivatives. Advise staff regarding swap dealers', major swap participants', and futures commission merchants' (Swaps Members) compliance with the CFTC's and prudential regulators' capital, margin and segregation rules applicable to OTC derivatives. This includes understanding, assessing and explaining various models and methods used by Swaps Members for calculating regulatory capital and margin requirements. Major duties include:

Requirements: Strong knowledge of and ability to explain in the OTC derivatives area:

  • Market dynamics
  • Trading mechanisms and practices
  • Valuation methods

Thorough understanding of CFTC and prudential regulator capital regimes affecting Swaps Members. At least 7 years experience in risk management and modeling. Bachelor's degree in finance, statistics or similar discipline. An advanced degree in quantitative finance, financial engineering or similar discipline preferred. An understanding of complex and sophisticated OTC derivatives market issues. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strategic, innovative and creative thinking. An ability to apply a common sense approach in a rule driven environment. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong networking and relationship building skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. A high level of initiative. An ability to explain the CFTC's and Prudential Regulator capital, margin and segregation requirements proposed under Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Act.
